Known for love of his family. Dixon’s wife, Emma, is a former Welsh and British 800-meter track champion and they have two daughters, Poppy and Tilly, and a son, Kit.

Appointed Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2012 and was New Zealand’s Sportsman of the Year in 2008 and 2013.

A six-time ESPY nominee for Best Driver, most recently in 2021.
