CHALLENGE
This chain of discount retail stores has experienced rapid growth in recent years, now operating in more than 450 locations nationwide. The retailer partnered with PeopleReady throughout their expansion to gain access to workers who could support new store openings and store remodel projects, including setup associates and truck loaders/unloaders.
Many of the retailer’s store locations are in rural or underserved areas, which often limits their pool of available workers. And with the hectic nature of retail, store managers often had difficulty maintaining schedules and timekeeping logs for their workforce.
SOLUTION
Given the retailer’s existing projects and plans for further expansion, PeopleReady recommended they use JobStack to find workers faster and more consistently across store locations throughout the country. Store managers at each location can leverage the app’s capabilities to request workers and get real-time visibility into their temporary workforce. JobStack also lets managers submit and track associate hours at their convenience without the need for manual timekeeping. Plus, they have the option to rate workers on their job performance and request top performers again for future assignments.
RESULTS
All the retailer’s locations now utilize JobStack to place orders for their temporary workers. On average, their managers place 184 orders each month for more than 1,100 PeopleReady associates. The fill rate on orders placed in 2022 is around 75%, a seven-point increase from 2021.
