PeopleReady offers several staffing models to meet your workforce needs:
- On-demand: Workers can be requested and dispatched quickly through our JobStack app or local branch teams — ideal for same-day, short-notice, or peak-demand needs.
- Temporary staffing: Workers are employed by PeopleReady for short- and long-term assignments, providing flexibility for peak periods or unexpected absences.
- Temp-to-hire: Workers start as temporary employees and can convert to direct hire with your company after meeting agreed-upon hours or performance thresholds.
- On-premise services: A PeopleReady team works on-site to manage check-ins, address issues in real time and keep your workforce on track.

Whether you submit a staffing request via our website, in person, by phone or through JobStack, our team reviews your requirements, confirms the details and dispatches qualified workers.
We keep you informed at every step. You’ll receive confirmation when your request is received, updates during dispatch and follow-ups after the shift to ensure everything went smoothly. Our goal is clear, timely communication throughout the entire process.
COST, BILLING & COMPLIANCE
The cost of staffing workers through PeopleReady can vary depending on several factors, such as industry, location, skills and experience required, and duration of the assignment.
Our JobStack staffing app uses AI-powered tools to calculate personalized bill rates based on your job details, location, and market trends, and leverages ReadyMatch™ technology to instantly connect you with the best-fit workers.
PeopleReady employs all workers as W‑2 employees. We manage payroll, taxes and workers’ compensation so you can focus on operations while staying compliant.
All PeopleReady associates are our W-2 employees. We ensure compliance with all local and federal employment laws to protect your business.
PeopleReady places W-2 workers across a wide variety of roles, including but not limited to:

The main difference between W-2 workers and 1099 workers is their employment status and how they are paid. W-2 employees receive regular paychecks and have taxes withheld from their pay, while 1099 workers are independent contractors who are responsible for paying their own taxes and receive payment based on a contract or project basis. According to the National Employment Law Project, anywhere from 10–30% of employers misclassify their employees as independent contractors, which can result in worker misclassification lawsuits. Yes! JobStack enables you to place orders for all of your jobsites in one place. Plus, each time a JobStack associate is assigned to your job, you’ll receive a notification alerting you that your order is being fulfilled.
