Worker Engagement Campaign Leads to Manufacturing Staffing Success
CHALLENGE
Leading global electronics repair and service provider Ivy Technology had previously used PeopleReady’s staffing solutions at a few of their locations. They reached out to our representatives again when they began servicing a facility of a major e-commerce client, which would require between 55 and 70 workers a day for six months.
Ivy Technology preferred long-term workers who would be available for the entire duration of the project. These workers would serve as pod builders, tasked with making pods that robots carry as they move products from station to station in the client’s warehouse. The assignment required working long shifts in hot conditions while wearing heavy PPE such as face masks, hard hats and safety vests.
SOLUTION
Ivy Technology received immediate access to PeopleReady’s extensive roster of vetted candidates. Plus, we were able to leverage our proven social recruiting strategies to fill the rest of the positions quickly.
In order to ensure worker retention, PeopleReady representatives got creative in their efforts. They created weekly and monthly giveaways based on performance, with prizes including gift cards and TVs. This engagement campaign was designed to recognize workers for their efforts while motivating them to arrive on time, meet performance standards and follow strict safety guidelines on the job site.
RESULTS
With PeopleReady’s support, Ivy Technology gained convenient 24/7 access to qualified workers who remained with the project for its duration. The company especially appreciated the clear, consistent communication from their PeopleReady representatives which gave them assurance that their staffing needs would be met. At a time when online shopping has become increasingly popular, these workers were essential in meeting their e-commerce client’s needs.
