PeopleReady has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with a global rental car company, providing them staff at a major international airport. In the last six years, over 500 PeopleReady associates have been put to work performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Transporting vehicles to and from the service lane, service stalls, and parking lots.
  • Maintaining the appearance of vehicles by cleaning interiors and exteriors.
  • Washing and sanitizing all surfaces of the vehicle after each ride.

Over time, PeopleReady has expanded its staffing footprint on-site due to increased airport traffic as well as the exceptional performance of its associates.

THE CHALLENGE

Their daily routine became more challenging in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, as air travel rebounded following weeks of record-low volume and people planned extended road trips for their essential travel. Between pick-ups and drop-offs, the client needed a crew of reliable associates more than ever to meet increased travel demands while ensuring the safety of customers throughout their entire rental experience, says Eric Lynn, Regional Vice President of PeopleReady. The single most important question PeopleReady had to answer: “What are you doing to ensure that the associates you’re sending us have health and safety top of mind?”

THE SOLUTION

PeopleReady presented the company with an enhanced cleaning checklist that associates were required to follow so that they could ensure the cleanliness of all vehicles as well as any public-facing areas. The details of a comprehensive health and safety program were also clearly defined, all with the goal in mind of making the rental experience easy and stress-free—even with the introduction of enhanced precautions related to COVID-19.

For its efforts, PeopleReady was recognized for being ahead of the curve and providing added value to the partnership. “Once we came back to them with details on our safety requirements and all the training that we put our associates through, that sealed the deal,” Lynn says.

After years of chipping away at the market share of its on-site staffing competitor, PeopleReady was selected as the client’s primary staffing provider this spring.
